Here follows some interesting bits and pieces that you may (or, perhaps, may not) know about Doriath, many of which were submitted by site visitors:

The Magusaan monster in room I-5 cannot be killed (see image below).
It is not possible, except with the use of cheats, to obtain the quasilin amulet.
Reportedly, labyrinth designer Dom Ashworth was only 15 when he designed the Doriath layout!
Almost all of the chests on the right side of the map have stamina potions.
Doriath was released in Italy under the title "Merlino".
The labyrinth is a 16 by 16 grid, making a total of 256 rooms or chambers.  However, 95 of the rooms are not required to beat the game.  In other words, you can skip these rooms and still get all the amulets and scroll fragments, and defeat the ice dragon.
There are more Fungata potions (4) than Fungata mushrooms (3).
All the dragons face east (and therefore can only attack to the right), even the one at the far right side of the labyrinth, in room K-16.  However, a sneak attack from behind won't work, due to the craftiness of the map designer.

"We originally planned to call the game Elidaan (after the main character) but changed it to Doriath at the last minute -- to avoid any confusion with the Commodore 64 game Elidon that Orpheus had just released..." (from Lee Braine).

The original background story had to be reduced into a few short lines in order to fit the cassette cover properly.  Read the full, unpublished, never-before-seen version right here!

Have something to add?  Let me know!

Magusaan says: "You can't hurt me!"

MR. UNTOUCHABLE.  THE WATERFALL PREVENTS YOU FROM USING SPELLS AGAINST HIM.
